I know they are rare but.....

New old stock AKA unobtanium! On another note, if that was the one piece that you needed you might pay it!

Only if I had Trumps money.

Ten years ago they were fifty bucks all day long.

Trump didn't get his money by spending foolishly, bargains every step of the way

If it's the only one, it's the cheapest one.
Other people thought so. Look at the prices people are paying for his stuff.
Apparently he does alright for himself.

I always said if I need it Id pay it. These are out there for a hundred to one twenty five from time to time. I dont need it at all but it looks nice under the hood

I bet any regular manufacturer of plastics canisters could make a batch of those for say 30 to 50 USD a piece. Somebody should organize a collective order. Anyone?

What has been strange to me is that Mopar Performance lists that washer bottle in their catalog, but when you go to order it, you get the wrong one. They have told me for years they will fix the problem with their supplier, but never have. And it is still in the catalog. We need those, but I wonder if one would run afoul of their lawyers if you actually try to reproduce the correct one.

P3431154 Windshield Washer Reservoir, 1970-73 C-Body

Otherwise I would have already been lobbying Bob Baker to have his molding company make a batch of these. Heck I would give him one to copy ! It would be worth it.

Don't use any trademarked name or logo on it and you're good to go.
If you intend to make an exact repro, you can get a licensing agreement.

They could right after they pony up $100K for tooling. How many do you want to buy?

Kevin.

And to see the number of different ones Chrysler produced over the years is staggering. For something as ubiquitous as a washer bottle you'd think they could have made three variations and made them fit in all the models. It no wonder they went bankrupt.

How many C-Bodies are out there? I mean, how many are already in the hobby and how many are potentially coming into the hobby? Of course, these bottles only fit the '70-'73 model years, so, that reduces potential sales even more. If it would cost $50 to make them, you would have to sell 2000 of them just to break even. Nobody goes into business to break even, but if you could sell them for $75 to $85 a piece and sell 5000 or more. :shruggy:

Are there still 5000 '70-'73 C-Bodies in existence?

I was thinking about this when I was looking for one a couple of years ago. I was wishing someone would repop the even more rare '69 C-Body (and '69 up Imperial) Washer Reservoir #2982830. Because they tuck nicely out of sight in the left front fender, I actually like them better, even though they aren't correct for a '70 & up C-Body.

If you just need a bottle and aren't worried about correct, the '68 C-Body Washer Reservoir, which is being repopped, will fit under the fender if you use a smaller battery. That's what I did.

Those Chinese repopped FoMoCo W.S. solvent bags are real cheap. Use one of those. They'll hang anwhere.. :poke:

Chrysler probably didn't pay for the tooling.... at least directly anyway...

Most likely the bottles were made by some supplier that made the tooling in their toolroom and then did the blow molding. If you look, they really aren't molded all that well. There's often a mold line showing or something like that. That shows the tooling was a little worn or sloppy.

Very little stuff is/was actually made by the car companies.

i think so. another crook on ebay trying to retire early on mopar people would be fmmopar. his **** is ridicuously overpriced. i hope he ends up with a **** pile of parts he is stuck with because of his greed. i have given away parts to people that needed them.
Ummm, Frank Mitchel died.
And he didn't take it with him like he thought he could.

Wow, thats crazy, I had no idea...uphere the wrecker had a few old imperials, Furys and Newports, they are all fairly banged up however I picked up the overflow container to put in my Newport from an old Imperial and the guy charged me $20.00..not much demand up here for C body stuff...In fact I am fairly certain other then a late 60s Fury Ive got the only other one in town...Im thinking I should go harvest some of these items...

These folks have been around for a long time and have a stash of NOS stuff to rival the fmpar collection. Their just a little more low key. I visited their place back in the 80's and passed up (like an idiot), a complete 6bbl setup, with air filter and lift off hood, and the Dana 60 4:10 rear end removed from a 69 A12 runner..... All for $800.00
