As I was polishing the horns off my 77 wagon bumper, I was afraid to pull off the rubber strips as I didn't want to risk stripping the bolts out.

As it happens, as I was hitting the chrome with some Tripoli rouge, I also ran up against the rubber block. Turns out the polishing wheel and a little Tripoli also polish rubber.

Didn't seem to foul my wheel and the rubber looks like new!

I'm sure many have known this, but I stumbled upon using steel wool for polishing up rusty or corroded chrome and stainless.
