Attached with several "B" clips to the inner fenders in the engine compartment there are tar paper/asbestos skirts that cover the upper control arms. Any ideas for a suitable inexpensive material to make new ones with?

A quick search turned up these "insulation tar boards" used in VW bugs...

And I also thought of using something like this.
Roofing tar paper would actually be pretty close to what was used originally.
All you need is a piece of material 1' x 3' to do both sides. Ideally it should be tear-resistant and flexible. Has anyone made their own? Or maybe even new repops are available?

It's not tar paper and especially not asbestos. They are a specialized rubber and you can get them already die cut from one of our sponsors Detroit Muscle technologies. Great guy.

I just left a request with Detroit Muscle. What I am looking for is called engine well splash shields.
Knowing what they are called, I found them on eBay...

I got a response back from Detroit Muscle already. That eBay ad I posted is their ad.

Email/Call and ask, these are small operations and may not list everything.
