If it was going to happen, at least it was a vette.

Going to my parents today for a party when we came across this, sorry about the vide, wife shot it. I stopped and tired to hand my fire extinguisher that I keep in my truck to a police officer and he refused it telling me that a fire truck was on the way. I told him this would put the fire out right now, and he yelled at me to keep moving because I stopped traffic.

If I was the Fireman and I saw that vette Burning I would just turn around and go home why waste the water.

That's ridiculous that they wouldn't let you help to put out the fire! Yes I have very little love for vettes...but an old car is an old car! I would try and help if I could.

Because in today's world it's all about safety. Let the property be destroyed but get the people clear.

So.... If the fireman owned a Vette and your car was burning, would you expect him to turn around too?

No and I don't like to see old cars destroyed but I don't show much compassion for a vette guy.

As C Body owners we are subject to more than our fair share of denigration therefore we should avoid responding in kind otherwise we are no better.

Well said Fred.

The Fix, nice music choice! I hate seeing anything old get destroyed. The Vette looked like a nice car.

X2

One lesson that we all need to learn here is to carry a fire extinguisher in our cars. My late brother lost his 66 Mercury to a fire and if it wasn't for my extinguisher, I might have lost my A12 car years ago. Had the guy with the Vette had an extinguisher, there wouldn't have been any story here.

Jake, with all sincerity, as much as you were trying to do the right thing, the cop was doing the owner a favor.
I have owned Vettes. As every Vette owner will tell you, they'd rather have it reduced to ashes rather get back a fixed car that "will never be the same".
I don't know if it's a subliminal macho type of thing where a man's ownership of a woman is tarnished or something like that or maybe as Freud once said, Maybe sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but had he got a repaired Vette back, the love would be lost. No matter how much he lovED it. past tense.

I don't try to be better, just myself. Nice sentiment and knowing you, I know you believe that but I can't follow those words.
