In Florida???

Sure that makes sense ... shut the town down and all is well ..... How about auditing every town on a 3 year cycle?

And do you really think the auditors will be honest too?

Anyone can be bought but most large firms wouldn't risk their reputation...

They would use political appointees that worked for the state, not an anyone capable of doing the job correctly or honestly.

The risk is to great for an auditor to turn his head UNLESS he is in on the scheme BUT you have to turn in a copy of the audit to the state and THEY DO look at them. He'd get jail time and a fine, I dont think they would..

Perhaps you are right... but I think there's gonna be corruption from the top to the bottom.

I've gotten very cynical over the years when it comes to government... I've seen and heard too much.

I am skeptical too John, I am only speaking from experience. That doesnt mean it isnt happening in other corners of the country. Then there is the abuser that has a strong arm and can make life miserable to a person of a lesser position

My District (otherwise known as a "very small town" anywhere else in the Country), is a "Golf Course Community". A five person Board of Supervisors runs The District. All five of them are "Golfers". 100% of The Board is made up of "Golfers". The overall ratio of "Non-golfers" and "Golfers" residing in The District is 97/3.
50% of the overall budget in running The District is for the two golf courses.
God forbid anyone complain about the Golfers.

I am person-non-grata at the District Office to the point where they refuse to put me on their public mailing list.
