Guitar master, read a interview once we're they asked him if he was trained to play or self taught. He responded he was self taught, he didn't know what kind of sound he would have had if he had training.

For me personally the best guitarist ever. First time I heard "Running with the devil" on the radio my jaw dropped. Bought the record and I was hooked. Loved the music, but also the humor, and the fun that poored out of the speakers. I´m from the Netherlands, and drove by the city of Nijmegen this saturday. The van Halen´s lived there the first years (about till ten years old). I had seen the adress this week on the many Facebook pages about Eddie. So had to stop by. So surreal, a small tiny appartment. It's been a hell of a ride from there to the Hollywood hills.
Took the Fury out yesterday, and had VH blasting out of the speakers. Godspeed Eddie!

I remember taking my first guitar, a harmony strat knock off and masking it up and trying to paint it like that with some Rustoleum my dad had left over in the garage... I was always embarrassed by it cuz surely Van Halen did something more magical on Frankenstein. But my father was like “don’t kid yourself, that’s all that dude did.”

look at all the probably unreleased songs

That was pretty cool & it reminded me that this past summer while driving home from work local station played a 90’s era VH song. After the song the DJ came on & said that in an interview someone had done with Eddie that he said he had a collection of music & had picked out about 20 songs he thought were good & was thinking about a new album of unreleased VH material. Well the first thing that came to mind was that Eddie must be feeling ok if he wanted to take on that because rumors for over a year that he was sick again. And second was which vocalist would these songs be. Now just a few months later Eddie has passed on & im wondering was the DJ just gossiping on air or was Eddie working on this & how far did he get. I did see a video on Facebook this summer a fan took of Eddie & his wife shopping at an out door market. The guy approached Eddie & talked with him. Eddie didn’t look good.
