I went to the surplus store for a Fusie dust cover that would look cool too. WWII camo 24x12 parachute. $85 after tax. Just barely covers the bumpers. Now I'll sew in an antenae grommit and its all good!
i have seen pictures taken by a friend of mine who visited Goodenough Island new Papua New Guinea and i saw racks of brand new wings for aircraft in crates that were falling apart and he also showed me pictures of fighter aircraft fuselages with their engines still in them in rows. The crates had fallen apart over the years but you could see the remains around the bottoms of the fuselages.
Here is a cool shot of abandoned Mig 17's from the 1950's still sitting at an airbase shut down in the 1990's. This pic was from last year. I think that the airforce still flew them until the place was shut down. Ah to have some entrepreneurial spirit and a pocketful of cash. Aluminum gets good money in scrap.View attachment 17250

Thats a nice shop you have there Matt, I wish I could have stayed longer after our trip to Bobs. Have you made any headway on any of your projects since I was there?
Sorry I asked, I'm exhausted just reading that! Post up a pic of the car you drove to Bobs, I'm sorry I didn't take one of it myself! Which one of the cars in your sig was that?Whataya kiddin me? 3 brake jobs, including new hardlines on 2. 4 oil changes. Son decided he wants the Bronco, so wash scrub with purple power and a laundry brush. Then I hit that dead paint with cleaner polish while he swept it back to immaculate. Still gota buff it now that it's in a condition for it... Got all that nos F body sheetmetal up in the trusses and moved all the other crap in that section of the 'dark side'. Including the Rivi. So tomorrow I start taking 1-1/2 inch off the stone under that pressboard and visqueen so I can pour a deeper floor than originally planned. Oh, picked up more Pex and crete mesh already for that too. Sold the boat Friday... Hmm, Nope! Ain't got a damn thing done that I wanted to do...
really?!!!There's a 17 in a woods nearby.
