Been working out of town twenty days now. Two weeks ago, I got really sick. I almost went down on the rig floor. A trip to the clinic confirmed it, influenza. And now I have pneumonia, which makes me really short of breath after doing much of anything. Not too big of a deal, it just sucks that I feel like crap and my days off start tomorrow. Sure, it's a great chance to get some rest...but I was wanting to do a few things. There is some nasty stuff going around, at least in the North Dakota area.

I dread walking from my office to the rig floor, by the time I get to the top of the stairs I can barely breath.

Looks like a fun place to work, lol. I once had an office with huge windows that looked out over the BIW shipyard. NEVER got anything done.

Sorry to hear that Catfish, no flue shot? How many days off do you get after working 20?

I could imagine you can save a good amount of money staying in your work place for twenty days in a row. No opportunity to spend money, unless you "owe your soul to the company store" in 16 tons manner. :)
All the best for your health btw.

Sorry to hear about your luck. You don't mess with pneumonia. Lots of fluids, rest and cough that **** out. Are you having your blood O2 levels checked?

Effen youth of today get a sniffle and they go out on disability for 4 months.
For the most part, I can't stand younger people anymore.

I'll second Fratzog's comment "don't mess with pneumonia"! That stuff sneaks up on a lot of people.

you would think, but I actually spend less on days off. When things are going good and I can relax on the rig, I start looking at crap online. I also have coworkers that get me to spend money. A few months ago a coworker was looking at metal detectors. I thought, that could be fun. Two grand later my wife and I have his and hers detectors. Brand new in the box in the closet. The internet is evil. That's how I ended up buying that dang 2003 cobra a couple months ago....just browsing Facebook and BAM! Like a ferret and shiny objects, I had to have it! Same with my Shelby, just poking around online at work and fell in love with the performance specs. But that purchase required a few months of buttering up the wife. At home for my ten days off, it's usually just one or two dinners out with the wife, maybe a camping or snowmobiling trip, or a trip or two to NAPA. Much cheaper than being at work. LOL

cat fish get well` then post us some more pics of that rig always interested in big toys
