I've been looking for a negative battery cable for my 78 NYB. Very simple battery cable you would think would cost $20-30. I found a NOS cable, you won't believe the FN cost...........

Product Number:3588944
Product Description:CABLE,BAT NEG
Product Application:73-78 R,W,C W/ 400,440
Product Price:$125.00
No FN way! I'll make my own.

I found three last year for my car, same guy had them all, wanted 65.00 for each. I should have bought all three. These prices arent coming down

No they aren't. The negative battery cable is so easy to make and I can make one for $20.

we are all victims of supply and demand

I don't know. I have been looking for NOS side marker lights for my car. Got the front yellow set as a pair for under $50 complete. One month ago got one red one for $29 with me being the only bidder. There was another one for buy it now of $60 or make offer. I made offer of $29 right after I got the first one used as a reference. The seller accepted the offer. Yet many of these NOS Mopar pieces are insanely high.

Sure you can Bob and they sell them at the local store, your car isnt original so why not just spend the 20

I paid 65 for my 70 Chrysler T&C
I thought I am kinda stupid as it can easily be selfmade for a few bucks but then original parts are simply nicer to look at cause you know its correct

it was. Original one owner car, still had the original cable but it was worn.

What difference does my car or any car not being original have to do with it? I can make one and you won't be able to tell the difference.

No, you cant Bob, simply make one and not be able to tell the difference... you will be able to

sorry I meant: You (or I) or Dave may have the skills to built an exact replica. But you, Dave or I do still know that it is a replica. And that is enough to NOT like it. At least for me.

Of course, I try to use NOS parts when I can (reasonably priced) even though my NYB is far from original condition.

But thats the thing, if its far from original, make it look nice and save the money
Yea, might as well pimp that ***** out now that you have a non-stock battery cable. Spinners & dark tint comin up...
