is this normal

after i driven my car for a bit, exit my car and i smell gas, a few moments later (or how ever long i take inside) the smell of gas is gone.

the smell of the gas is coming from the tank vent line and not under the hood

i've replaced all the rubber fuel lines and clamps.

what are my options to eliminate the smell of gas after i've driven my car?

I find the smell of gas on my Polara is worse if I top up the tank. Wife complains about the smell when she goes out into the garage. I told her not to go in the garage. Long story short now I only fill it 3/4s.

Is the gasket on the sending unit leaking?

Modern fuel has 10% ethanol in most areas now. It evaporates a lot faster than the older unleaded or leaded these cars were designed for. From the tank, and from the carburetor bowls. If all the rubber is good, and the factory evap system (if so equipped) is intact and working, then you pretty much live with it.
