Bonnie and Clyde’s bullet-riddled 1934 Ford V8 was sold at auction for $175,000 to Peter Simon of Jean, Nevada. The Ford V8 model that had succeeded the Model A was popular amongst criminals because of its speed and power. Clyde Barrow even wrote a note to Henry Ford: ‘Dear Sir, While I still have breath in my lungs I will tell you what a dandy car you make. I have drove Fords exclusively when I could get away with one. For sustained speed and freedom from trouble the Ford has got every other car skinned and even if my business hasn’t been strictly legal it don’t hurt to tell you what a fine car you got in the V8.’

(I think this would be a cool thread to get & keep going...)

I will cheat on this one, 4 big Prait & Whitney radial engines, so technically motoring history. I happened to notice the date when I was visiting the Boeing plant, last week. This day in 1935 the B-17 took it's very first flight.

Someone here will probably disagree with this but, the B17 models "A" thru "G" were the prettiest airplanes ever built.

As long as you agree that he Corsair gull wing was a thing of beauty:rolleyes:

My favorite fighter plane. My dad was a private pilot and always wanted to build his own plane. He had the plans for 82% scale home built one seater Corsair. He unfortunately never had the opportunity to build it.
