JC Whitney Called............

1977 Dodge D100 318 V8, Automatic.76,645 Miles. This was a one owner truck. A lot of time was spent on this truck. Runs and drives suspension decent. has sat for some time so could use a tune up ect.

Isn't that true of all vehicles??

Interesting how a second, third, or fourth-owner will describe a car that way - "was a one-owner car" - golly gee, no ****!

That has every tacky old-man add-on from the era, doesn't it? I'll bet that bed is in superb condition, though! This would be a pretty good deal, actually.

The damned thing has THREE spare tires!

JC Whitney is the consummate tacky "old man add on" catalog.
Not anymore. It's not 1/10th the catalog it used to be. It's all Tuner and truck crap now.

It'd only take a few hours and a big can of Goof Off to undo what the old guy did to it and you'd have yourself a decent beater. It's hideous though with all that chachke.

Agreed. Say what you will about his taste the old guy probably loved his truck. It's a safe bet that the 318 was looked after.

Mooneyes is still around, that somehow escaped me. Wonder if it's still operated by the heirs of the founder or sold to some corporation.

when I was about five years old, I remember my fathers Christmas gift from me that year being hood ornament #2 from the above photo. The hood ornament section was my favorite as a kid. My grandfather had #22 on his Ford truck, and it was huge! It is now mounted on his headstone. He also had the #32 trout on his Jeep Cherokee. Thanks for some good reminiscing.

It's owned by a Japanese guy now. I believe he was a close friend of Dean Moon.

I've never seen a truck with 3 fuel tanks before. My 76 had dual tanks, but I see the fuel filler on the cab as well for the in- cab tank, like the older trucks. I thought that the in cab tank was discontinued in 74?

Probably one of the coolest stories I have ever read here.

With that guy, I wouldn't doubt that truck has a thousand surprises.
