Him:
yes dark blue royal Monaco brougham 2 door blue vinyl roof 400 cid 2 bbl carb

Me:
OK. I remember it.
If I recall correctly, I talked with a lady who said she was told "by someone who knew about cars" that it was worth an insane figure. Can't remember exactly. $15k? $25k?
I do remember having a very honest and well meaning discussion with her on the true value of it.
Unfortunately, prices are flat or still going down from 2009.
It looks like I asked for pictures but then never heard back.
I don't know what's going on here but I'd still like to talk about it because it was a nice car.
I need a lot of info so how is the most convenient way to go about it?
I don't want to exchange a million email one-liners.
Thanks,

I think this was it.

Strange seeing as there is a Royal Monaco on ebay now and we're talking about it, eh?

...........

Thanks for getting back to me.

Before I make you go through the hassle for a lot of pictures, all for naught,
please tell me what kind of money you're expecting.

Thanks again,
Stan
1. I talked to his wife, woman, or something female. It wasn't him.
2. I never got any pictures.
HE'S confusing me with someone else...

This guy is effen nutz. He's down from $25k to $15k. I told him to call Gershwin and offer it to him and I know even they won't go over $5k.
No mileage Salons don't bring that money.

Negotiations are over. He says the count from counting cars wants to buy it at his price.
Right. I told him send me a pic of the check when he gets it.

That is an easy thing to say, throw out a name, who's he trying to impress?

This is getting really pathetic....

this dodge is still for sale any intrest still ?
Geez, Jay, this was 4 years ago. LOL

For what it's worth, here are my 1976 New Yorkers that I have owned.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

nice new Yorkers I had a 1977 4 door way back in high school. like I had said its a brand new car sticker was 6200 or there about new cars are a lot more than that 15 k or maybe you have something to trade im looking for a Harley thats why im selling
Yes, I am addicted to these cars. They are my passion. Probably the most unappreciated cars out there.
I'm sorry but the $15k figure is 3 times these cars' true selling value. Within 5 minutes, I can pull up at least 25 of these cars asking five figures and they've been for sale for many years without ever selling. I don't mean to insult you. I'm sure the car is that valuable to you. I feel my New Yorkers should be worth at least $15k++ but they won't ever get a third of that at least in my lifetime. They are not Hemi-Cudas.
Thanks, Jay. At $15k I'm going to pass on your Royal Monaco.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THIS CAR IS NOT A RESTORE 07000 MILES FACTORY SPARK PLUGS
WHAT WOULD YOU THINK IS A REASONABLE OFFER . I HAVE IT INSURED FOR 35 K
Miles are irrelevant with Formals when they are under 35k miles. Zero miles or 50k miles they all need everything replaced due to age. The highest price ever paid was $12,000 for a never driven 1978 New Yorker Salon. Extremely rare. And it went to Germany. Here's something even rarer and more desirable. It's been the talk of all the Mopar C-body forums.

The above burgundy Royal Monaco will be lucky to crack $4k. Your car is $5k in today's market. Even at Barrett-Jackson or Mecum.
Ask me why I know.

I can insure my cars with Hagerty for a hundred thousand if I wanted. Insured values are worthless as far as actual sales prices. As are KBB values and all those other "value" guides.

It's a five thousand dollar car. Even at $5,100.00 I don't want nor need it. Put it on ebay or offer it to Gershwin Motors. He'll offer you $5k. I guaranty it.
I am NOT (!!) "low balling" you. Put it on Craigslist and see what kind of whacko tire kickers you get.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
that car has 70 thousand miles on it mine has 7000 also nothing needs to be replaced no rubber rot ill just stay in contact with the count from counting cars . you are trying to low ball me I have had offers that are higher than the sticker price in 1975. and here in Detroit area hemi cudas are 50-75k
and then this morning:
i know you low balled me I had the car valuated sight unseen and was quoted $7500 and was told it would more likely be around $12000. if it as good shape as I say
Jay, all I can say is, please send me a picture of the check when it's actually in hand.
because of the distance, I'd have to pay $500.00 for an appraisal from someone I hire and at least 15 hundred dollars to have it shipped here, And that would be on an open trailer by a gypsy. An enclosed trailer from a dedicated carrier company (NOT a broker) is much higher.
So, I'm into 75 hundred bucks right there.
Jay, I have been into Mopar C-bodies since 1970. 43 years has taught me a little. After 43 years I don't NEED to lowball anybody. I don't lowball.
Like I said, send me a pic of The Count handing you a check. Good luck with taht. It ain't going to happen.

"i know you low balled me I had the car valuated sight unseen and was quoted $7500 "
So, sight unseen, I said $5k + $2 - 2.5 k in expenses. $7,500. I know WTF I'm talking about.

Getting ugly.:poke:

This is getting interesting. Why would he type all of those words if he has "The Count" and other buyers offering a lot more?

Keep us posted.....

:sixpack:

Why do we ever ask where do these morons get their values from. Just another typical ignoramus.

that wasn't from the count private party that valuates cars trucks and bikes maybe cars are cheaper in fla than Michigan I never said the count offered me $ only said I was in contact with him about my car
Please keep me up to date on how you make out. I'll be interested for my own education. Thanks
