That's cool. I love the Imperial crown on the top of the speedo.

No trust in the parking brake it seems. Nice car but I would prefer a Cadillac when it comes to this modelyear.

I might also like the Cadillac better too but this one is more rare I would think and for that I'd love to have it. What do you guys think of the price?
Btw, I'm not buying, just looking.

1955 is the turning point for me when the Cadillac got a bit too "jazzy" for my taste, coincidentially the same year when Imperial became a separate make (and Exner's design era was gradually becoming visible), which gave it a bit more acceptance in this price class, but if you're going by production numbers it's pretty clear the General Public went with the GM design.

That's a pretty rare car. If it is a real Crown Imperial, it should have the disc brakes.

Right. That explains maybe the wood panel to secure the car. Said to be problematic as it's completely different from regular disc brakes and parts near unobtainable. Ad is not that clear if it's completely operable.

Yes, the parts are very different. They were self energizing and contained in a finned housing. They weren't used as an emergency brake though. Chrysler was still using the emergency brake mounted on the tailshaft of the transmission.

See the drum on the tailshaft? That's the emergency brake.
