When I was in grade school, there was a fifth grade teacher that lived much like this woman did. This was in the early '70s. Her and her sister were both spinsters, and collected/kept/hoarded nearly anything and everything. They lived in an old two-story house that was built around 1900, and had not been painted probably since the end of WWII. There was rumors of an old Cord convertible hidden away in their small garage, and an old Pierce-Arrow touring car under piles of stuff in a pole barn, but I never found out if all that was true. She retired from teaching in the mid-'70s at age 70, and died not long after that. Her sister died around the same time. Then one day, the property had been cleaned up and the house was torn down. I guess you can "take it with you", in a sense, since all their stuff vanished. It's sad, really.
