Found a 5spd out of a ram fairly cheap....I don't know much about them, but is it possible to mate it to a 440?

As much as I want to just do a A833 4spd, I wouldn't mind better driveability of having an O/D or 5th gear.

Good question, anything is possible. If you're looking to put in a car, (c body), it may not physically fit without allot of mods, it's a top loader as I recall and has an integrated bell housing. Good box though, had one in a 97 Dakota behind a 5.2, (318), well over 200k with no issues and still shifted good. Uses a synthetic lube.

Small block only bell housing, shifter location is fixed. Not sure about floor pan mod's it's a pretty large trans. I would think someone could fab a adapter plate to mate it to a 440.

I would not do it. By the time you modify and adapt, you could just buy a overdrive gearset from Passion, or put it together with the 833 and then swap out for a Tremec later. The latter is my plan whem I grenade the OD 4 speed 833 in my Charger.
