We attended a local car show with the 65 Coronet held at a pretty park in Birmingham this weekend.
There was one C-body there, unusual for this area, A very original 72 New Yorker.
At a small cruise in last weekend a 72 Imperial Lebaron that I had not seen before showed up. Nice mostly original and the owner wanted $9700.00. I just nodded my head...said, nice car, and walked away. (Didn't have my camera).

That NY'er is sweet. I like that woody too. Do you know if the paint on the woody is original?

That 1946 Town & Country conv was found in a garage on Long Island NY. It is mostly original but has been repainted sometime long ago. He drives the car to several of the cruise ins around here.

New Challengers (along with Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, Vipers, etc ad nauseum) DO NOT belong at car shows.
I don't care what your argument is. It will never pass muster with me.

At my car show, a punk maggot wannabee stated bringing his new Challenger when they were first introduced. He got there early so to be in the primo spot. m He would raise his hood to show his neato aftermarket air cleaner and play the stereo at high volume. I threw him to the back end of the parking lot. Told him If he didn't like it then go home and cry to mommy...

I agree Stan, yet they'll argue to the end of the earth. They have no business in car shows and parades.

I do owe you a drink.................................:eek:ccasion14:

I agree...showing up at car shows with a K&N air filter doesn't turn it in to a classic.

I'm glad SOMEBODY finally said that. I've often felt the same way.....but figured I get hosed for saying it....but so true!

X5... I don't want to go to a car show that looks like a damn dealership moved in.

Along with agreeing completely with what has already been stated, I add that 90% of these are mechanically inept dorks that are bringing a lot car to a car show, and they only specific detail about their car that they actually know is when the payment is due.

Effing amazing. Something that everyone agrees with me on.
What's wrong with this picture...

There were several new Challengers at this show Saturday, In fact one won "Best of show"....!!!
They don't do much for me either, but they do draw the younger crowd and I try to encourage the kids interest in cars when I can. After all ...it IS a "car show"..... Not just an old C-body show.

...and/or they know exactly how to install that K&N air filter, lol.

I agree about what separates the two, but I will also say that the new R/T & even more so S/RT model deserve some props....a loaded out SRT w/ hemi is tough.......but it still is not the same as the original.

Nothing can equal the original, but the new one is a badass mirage of the former IMHO.

I haven't been a big fan of the new Challenger... so big and bulky compared to the original, and black interiors only, both turn-offs.

True story ( I swear!!!):
1. Over at DigitalCorvettes, a noob started buying every piece of bling available for his new Vette that he just ordered but yet had been made. In the technical section, he said he just ordered custom matched and embroidered carpet mats and he asked whether it was an installation he could do himself.
2. Over at CorvetteForum, a guy had a Vette on order in a certain color. He asked the forum for opinions on whether the color of a vanity plate he wanted would clash....

I don't understand why both forums banned me (and that's MY sarcasm...top that :eusa_whistle: )

The new Challenger's, Mustang's, Camaro's look and run nice, I just don't have any interest in them.
