Guys,
I live in the middle of nowhere western pa. The population of the county is less than 20k and is unfortunately a magnet for people trying to collect the entitlements from the government. This is why I'm so blown away by getting passed by this. Yeah sure there are some doctors and lawyers who have money, but still.

Bugatti Galibier

I suppose it could've been the pharmacist from the local corner.

You Pay 5,6 Figures for a Car that Still (IMO) cant Beat the Styling of a 68 Charger or Most Mopars. I would rather spend all that money on a Massive Garage and fill it with as many orphan Mopars as I can.

...but to someone who wasn't alive at the time they probably don't agree. Besides much of the attraction is most likley the Bugatti name and no one else has one so look at me.

Mmmmmmmmm..yeah if I had the money and it was a choice between the Bugatti and a 68 anything, Bugatti every flicking time.

The Bugatti has no appeal to me. Have to admit there are other cars in that league that do. For example...

I love the Viper I really do and I'd buy one if I had the cash. But if I had the means for the Bugatti, I'd still take it. 1000+hp, 254MPH top end (in a Luxury Sedan) and $1.4M US, it's like NFL vs Junior varsity. I'm way down here in pop warner...cheerleading...

The Bugatti is just another VW brand, so I would be suspicious whether it really has all that horsepower they claim it has, except for when it is being tested on a dynamometer................

By the way, are you sure that is what you saw - even the Bugatti website doesn't show it to even be in production yet - the only versions shown are prototypes it seems?

The eagle low drag, mclaren p1 and a good ol ferrari testarossa are first on my list if i ever become rich. I might throw in a lamborghini countach too :)

I personally always thought that the bugattis are fairly ugly...dunno why. Oh and i live in an area where not a lot of rich people reside and still saw a brand spankin new lambo sitting in traffic when i dropped the kiddos off at school....crazy sometimes how it looks out of place. I just think, whats the point of having that when the speedlimit is 60? Those cars do that in 1st gear tho

There might be a prototype or two driving around, no matter what the factory claims. No production vehicles, however.

Ummm, the person you quoted wasn't alive at the time and if we're actually talking '68, neither was I...

I am sure that it was a Bugatti, because I managed to see the logo on the back of it when it passed me the second time. Okay, so I might have picked the wrong model when I was surfing looking for a picture. The only other place I have seen a Bugatti up close and personal was at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit a number of years ago.

Probably a Veyron then. Not cheap either.

hmm a Veyron. at $1M+ clearly not my kinda ride but looks cool.

now that I know what it is, i HAVE seen a Veyron around my area (NOT my neighborhood tho but several members of the Detroit Pistons & Lions live about 5-10 miles away in gated enclaves).

funny (or sad) thing is the guy lives on/has to traverse a DIRT road i think before he gets to paved roads. the car is NEVER clean (glossed-up tires with dirty edges, dust "rash" behind the wheels openings, etc.) the 2-3 times a summer i see it.

$1M or $100...i HATE dirty cars, especially those that do not work for living. pet peeve of mine since before i could even drive. I even kept my "beaters" clean back in the day.

plus we ALL know clean cars run better too :icon_winkle:
