I am looking into buying a 1966 Chrysler New Yorker, went over to look at it today and not much to fix on it.Needs a left front fender, bottom of it is rusted out and that is no problem with me.I drove it down the road, drives good. The guy that is selling it put some money in the front end, every suspension part is new with Moog parts.Has a small oil leak, valve cover gaskets are leaking. The engine was rebuilt 2 years ago during the restoration.I know where to get another fender and needs a paint job on the hood too.Someone painted the hood and did not do a good job of it.I offered $9,000.00 cash to him and he is thinking about.Wants $11,000.00 for it.I love the car, want something beside my 1967 Chrysler Imperial.

I'll reserve comment but can we see some photo's / link to ad if you are interested in opinions? Seems like it should be a pretty nice looker "as is" for that price but I'll let the heavyweights weigh in

No heavy weight here. Without seeing pics and more info it just seems that you are at the very top range for a car that needs a fender...

It was not in any classified. This seller came forward to me yesterday,he wanted to sell it.It is a 4 door by the way.I like the New Yorkers too and always wanted one,a 1966 or 1967.This one was the nicest one I found so far.Rear end has been gone through recently, done right and quiet.Needs tires, dry rotted

That does sound a bit steep and as Fratzog pointed out, needing a fender.

We require photos for all honest appraisals.............

Sounds like way too much for a 4 door that needs a fender, which also means paint, which would likely turn into a complete restoration. I hope it is at least a pillarless hardtop and not a post sedan.

It was repainted during the restoration and the rest of the paint looks good.Found out his nephew repainted the hood and used the wrong color container of paint. The restoration, they short cutted using the left fender showing rust and fixed it.I ended up getting it,$8,500.00.He called me tonight and said it was mine.I know the price of older Mopar body parts are not cheap.I am good friends with another junkyard owner,he has a brand new fender in the box.I traded a good running 2003 5.7 hemi to him he wants for this fender.

Alright now we'll have to see some pics and if you don't post one up of your '67 Imperial I will explode!!
and congrats btw...

I paid $7,500.00 for it,not $8,500.00.I have a set of tires brand new sitting around that are going on it.Picking it up tommorrow and taking it to my neighbor Calvin to get the hood repainted and the fender replaced also painted. He knows about it and glad he does not have to fix the fender.Calvin also likes the older Chrysler Imperials,New Yorkers and New Ports. He has a 1965 Imperial his parents bought brand new and recently handed down to him.
