Lost Art

Stan, I know two guys who build from scratch, when I say that, they start with large sheets of plastic and build some very impressive stuff, every hobby has those that blow our minds.

Oh, I know. Love the ones that place the models in settings so real that you think it's the real thing.

Smokey Yunick did a nice 7/8 model of a Chevelle for cheating in NASCAR racing. That's when they started using these sihouette templates to check the cars for proper size. :)

that is absolutely incredible, I impress myself when a patch panel comes out good. I can only imagine the amount of hours and dedication that go into such a detailed art piece. Those pic's on the model studebaker and scenery are spot on....the background is perfect, thanks for sharing them.

You ever read the whole story as told by man himself, I read it a few months ago, the part that killed me was when he told them to measure the chevelle in the parking lot (also his, and also modified)

Read this a long time ago, forgot about this detail you mentioned I guess. Lots of good stories how they outwitted each other to win or to please sponsors. I'd be to honest and uninventive for this world.
