The 1970 Fury II is getting annoying as the poster must be desperate with spamming that car all up & down the East Coast. Feel free to flag it if you see it posted in your local Craigslist.
 
The 70 Fury looks great, but isn't it a little big for a slant 6? I have a 318 in my 70 Fury III and it doesn't have the acceleration speed that I desire, but when it gets going it has a lot of power.

That 70 has been for sale for a long time. $8000 is a lot for a slant 6 car. I like the car, but price is too high. Also, I think the front stub frame is different for slant 6 than V8. If so, engine swap will be a ton of work. I think small block and big block V8 stub are same. You could pay less for a 318 car and upgrade to a 440 whenever ready.

It wasn't to uncommon for a big bodied car in the 60's to have a 6 cylinder engine in it, but by the 70's most could afford a V8 optioned car. Early 60's 6 cylinder with 3spd on the column were your basic affordable grocery getter, automatics were a luxury option, late 60's started to see automatic transmissions as standard but still 6 cyls. and a V8 as a option, and by the 70's most cars on dealers lots were standard with a small block V8 & automatics. The cheapskates could still get a six cylinder but would most likely have to order it optioned that way. My dad had a company car with a 6 cylinder & automatic back in 1968.
