I have a 78 new y orker, but only drivers seat is power. Anyone ever convert manual to power? Can I just change seat rails n switches?

i'm in the same boat(no pun intended...) with my 66 Polara convertible
Got the power seat system from DeMatt here over a year ago and plan to install in the Polara.

really it's just a matter of running a breaker relay, some HD gauge(12AWG should do it) wiring and getting er' done!

The best way is to get a donor passenger seat with power. I believe all 78's have the wiring plug under the carpet or the sill plate. Those seats are heavy as hell.

I got one for Goldie too let's see who gets it in first. I imagine I'll loose this race.

Thanks, sounds pretty easy. And should not draw too much

I have a complete unit coming. And yes, gotta love the old boats disregard for trimming off the pounds lol

If you’re referring to me you will likely win this time Mike
My back has been very flaky these days
Every time I think about working on either Trixie or Betty my back problem kicks my arse
I’m having a friend help me do the disc brakes conversation in a few weeks

You might get lucky and the harness may be ready for a plug n’ play situation

Tom I hope your back gets better for you, I kind of figured something was up. I knew you had a few things planned for both cars.
