This will probably be a very short thread .. you folks usually quickly ID anything :)

These side marker lights are from the 1960's ..but which vehicle? Also, how mounted (screw, stud with spring nut, inboard bracket, etc.?).

Not a "test" -- i really just don't recall what I got them for 15 years ago now...

thanks in advance for your time

They attach with a large nut, from behind the fender. I've never seen factory '68 side markers with screw holes in the front. Yours might be an aftermarket item of some sort, but I'd bet money they are NOT OEM Mopar parts.

hmm... aftermarket. could be but at least they could have made it look OEM if this is the case...this front mount stuff ain't fooling nobody.

here's the whole set. the front row I recognized immediately but the lenses on all four of them have the similar markings SAE, 68, PIF, CC, etc.)

but now i am not sure of ANY of these are OEM vs. the repops -- would repops have "68" as part of the lens markings?

the plot thickens.... everything i learned about wagons has been here on FCBO the past few months, so looka here (sorry, its a B): is that the flat, screw-in marker light on the quarter panel?

68 Mpar wagon.jpg

the screw-in pieces are red and larger diameter, the "regular" ones are amber, all four have a Pentastar on the lens too. All four look "weathered" like a 50 year old part in driver condition would look.

I CANNOT find a part number i can read without disassembly..except what is on the lenses.

If theirz ah Pentastar on those lenses I'd bet Mother Mopar made 'um. And that round marker iz 1968 only. She had fun spanking anybody and everybody for yearz that violated her trade mark. Redz in the rear quarterz Amberz in the front fenderz for A-bodyz and B-bodyz. BTW

Big_John the problem solver...looks like it to me. Any dissenters please chime in if you want.:thinker:

:sSig_thanks:

Big John is the man when it comes to marker lights! LOL!

Great job!

Never seen a screw-in from the front bezel before. Weird.
Ditto. Previously I thought there was only flat and curved styles. Actually amazing given in 1968 these marker lights were thought to be last minute government mandated add ons ... that Ma Mopar would come up with 3 different styles WTF?

This was a company that would require a 24 step process to put it's model emblems on.

It makes sense that the rear lenses only are screwed in from "outside" the car for wagons...that way you don't have to remove the interior panels to access them.

Most likely those letters were stuck to a thick paper that allowed them to be put on a word at a time. I had a JEEP emblem like that around here with the paper on it that came from our shop, but I think I gave it to my son for his Jeep.
