I like the idea of per pound pricing on some C-Bodies.

Currently, well sorted 1970 300/Hursts are selling from $8.50 to $14.00 per pound.

I would expect a well sorted 1970 Sport Fury GT to do the same. The last two private sales that I know of were around $7.00 per pound.

So maybe now it's a good time to find and buy the Sport Fury GT you've been thinking about before the window of opportunity closes.

Just a thought.

But any day of the week, you can choose from a multitude of 300 Hursts, whereas just trying to find even one 1970 SFGT for sale is a real challenge.

the condition is very different, too.

Most Hursts on the market are decent drivers.
Not top condition but not rustbuckets either.
I would consider most of them being in condition "3".

Totally different compared to SFGTs.
There are quite a lot of rough cars around.
Needing full resto usually including lots of welding and missing drivetrains.
Decent driver SFGTs in condition "3" seem nearly not to exist.

Is that per lb of

1. crumbling rust?
2. just surface rust?
3. mixed rust & steel?
4. semi-solid steel?
5. or 100% solid steel?

Sorry, I don't see your pricing method catching on anytime soon. But I could be wrong too.

Makes complete sense; the more options, the heavier and by that higher priced.
Should apply for aluminum front end Catalina Super Duties as well.
