Just showing off this minty old man survivor that I just got two weeks ago.
WANT:
1. Air conditioning, I am too old to sweat and stink so she will be getting the Vintage Air soon.
2. Drum brakes work but I think I would feel safer with a dual pot master cylinder and front discs, seeing as how almost everyone ignores official 65 mph limits and does 80 or more.
3. I hate idiot lights and don't need a clock so I want to install an oil pressure gauge where the old clock sits now, bad idea?
4. I'd also like to put a small tach on the steering column.
NEED:
1. The switch on the steering column for the turn signals is not working right because while the 4Way flashers work perfectly with all four lights, only the LEFT turn signal works on the column lever.
I think I need to just go ahead and get a tilt column which of course would include a fresh turn signal switch.
2. The steering has more than five inches of free play and yet under the hood and under the car all the suspension pieces look pretty fresh, even the bushings, which are clearly new.
I hope and pray it's just a matter of adjusting the steering box, which I am having a great deal of trouble loosening, so maybe a professional can do it for me instead before I break something.
----There is no way a 383 4BBL with 106 thousand miles feels and looks this fresh, she barks like she's brand new or rebuilt within 30 thousand miles or less.
Now here is the fun part.
I sorta know Mamie Van Doren from decades old red carpet shoots and she friended me and complimented the car, so I named it after her, she is the last of the Three Blonde Bombshells and still very alive and sharp at age 94 believe it or not. She is salty as hell, like Betty White was, she's a real hoot.
The car barks real nice, even the 727TF trans feels nice and crisp.
No rust anywhere, barely any blemishes at all, this beast was a pampered survivor with receipts and docs on literally everything imaginable.
Paid 14,500 locally here in Whittier CA.
