MMM Cold Mopar and Gear Reduction Starter

Why do people step on the brakes before they start a car? I know the new cars have a silly safety thing but that has bugged me for thirty years

That does sound great! Mine are never that hard to start though, stab the gas once to the floor, hit the key and they fire right up. Harder to start after they've warmed up sometimes...

A good question. Something that was drummed into me early on and I've done it since. Actually with manual cars I always depress the clutch. Force of habit ....

I learned on a manual. Start it in gear once, and you step on the pedal until the day you die.

But with your right foot, correct? Its unnatural because you are touching the brake with your left and pumping with your right ...... I dont know....moving on
