Standard bore RB Block 440. Casting#2536430. Block has been steel blasted and checked for cracks but will need reclean due to sitting it in the open and surface rust. Cylinders in great shape for age and will most likely hone out and run as a standard bore 440 big block. Asking $1000 firm hard to find and harder to find with this little wear. If interested TEXT 904-566-0939 with offers trades considered......... Can also machine and build to your need from a freshened up ready to build bare block to complete stock or performance long block TEXT 904-566-0939 for quote. Delivery available for extra fee

I'd rather buy an entire tired Winnebago 440 engine that's dirty but unexposed for 500 bucks.
He says: surface rust. You don't want any rust on all the machined areas.

What the hell are they smoking down there? @cantflip and I have discussed this before, absolutely insane, IMO. It's starting to happen up here to, but with a complete Winny engine and trans. I'm sitting on a good chunk.of change for a resto if I could get that kind of money. I have 8-9 440's in bare, short, long and running blocks. I could sell 5 and get the 500 painted or, or... I can't give them away. I don't get it.

I'm surprised he didn't give the date code. That's the only way somebody would be desperate enough to pay a grand.
AND I would still want to go .030 over just to make sure.

Maybe its the"patina" thing! Everything that is rusty is gold these days. ...
That is crazy.... I bought a complete running 440 with a 727 out of a 67 New Yorker for $400

Looks like a chevy man selling it? What are those blocks in the background? Not Mopar, that's for sure.

I counter with a chevy transmission in the second picture. :poke:
Your inbox is full... :D

Well thanks for dragging me into this mess...

Far as I can tell, this seller is great at taking crap apart... don't think I'd let him try to reassemble anything though :realcrazy:

IF he perceived that "cleaned-up/vated/blasted" 440 block is worth $1K, then what would an NOS 440 motorhome short block be worth? hehe
