Ellie and I are leaving early tomorrow morning in Jazebelle for the Bama coast.
Two shows this weekend.... The Bama coast cruise in Orange beach and the "Mopars at the battleship" show in Mobile on Saturday.
This is the third year for the Bama coast cruise and it's growing fast. Lots of fun including a invition only, red carpet event at the yacht club.... A poker run and lots of cool cars
The Mopar show is located at a great state park on Mobile Bay where the USS Alabama battleship is located and open to tour. In addition there is an Air Force museum and a dry docked WWII submarine to crawl around on.
I'll take lots of pictures.....

Sounds like a great weekend, have fun!

Have a great time at that great event. Can't wait to see the pictures.

Weekend of car shows......

What a weekend.....
We left early thursday in Jazebelle for the "Bama coast cruise" in Orange Beach Alabama. Arrived early afternoon after a cool start that turned in a beautiful, sunny top down day, regestered and relaxed under the palms and enjoyed the warm breeze. Then dinner at the Bahama Breeze on the beach.

Friday... more relaxing amoung some beautiful cars.... A little cleanup and detailing on Jezabelle..... Some fun on the afternoon poker run..(I got a two card straight flush).

There was a invitation only, red carpet yacht show at the wharf which we attended... I found a 120 footer that would have met my needs nicely.

Dinner at "Ribs & Reds". Then I let Ellie kick my butt at a minature golf place. After that some beach cruising and back to the motel.

The bama coast cruise continued on saturday but we had also regestered for the "Mopars at the Battleship" show in Mobile, so we headed up there in the morning. We arrived, (top down), about 9:00 am and found a place amoung over 250 gleaming mopars parked in the shadow of the USS Alabama battleship and several huge military air craft.
As can be expected, C bodys were not well represented but there were a few nice ones including a black 65 300 L 4 speed. Jazabelle was well received and involked several "nostelga" trips.
Most every type of B body was represented as well as E body and A body cars and a few nice trucks.

We finally packed up the tent, chairs, cooler, etc and drove over to the area near the awards ceremony where we couls sit in the car and listen to the presentations. This was the first all Mopar show for Jezabelle and we had no real expectations.... There were some VERY nice cars there.
After all the sponser awards & class awards, (about 65 award placks), Jazebelle was not amoung them. I was a little supprised at that but I am not a trophy hound so it didn't bother me much... BUT, Ellie was dissapointed. (Her first mopar show with her car).
They came to the last special awards which were the cool trophys and ....... The receipent of the founders award trophy was ... Jazebelle...!

I told Ellie..... "Go get your trophy".... I don't think her feet touched the ground and she smiled so big I never realized she had so many teeth. Her reaction to winning that trophy made the whole trip worth it.... She sat in the front seat holding the trophy and smiling for the first 100 miles home. LOL.

Anyways...... thats what we did this weekend......Heres some pictures.

Great story, congratulations .... None of us want the trophy but it is always nice to get the recognition and always a bit disappointing when she doesnt receive the notoriety

I guess the top was down, that would have poked a hole right through the roof...... Cant wait to meet you guys at Carlisle.

Congratulations and for sharing the pictures too. Looks like a great setting for a car show.

Looks like a great time was had, congrats on the well deserved award. Kool pics, thanks.

This is one of the coolest pic's I have of Jazebelle so far....... Taken upon arrival at the "Mopars at the Battleship" show in Mobile Alabama last Saturday......

Congratulations Will!

Is that a B-52......can't see the other 4 engines.

Yep, that's a B-52 then. The only aircraft with 8 engines on it! I never see them that close.......usually I see them at 30,000 feet. LOL!!!
