Mekum Ft Lauderdale.

Finally got out and about yesterday after pinching the nerve in my neck a few weeks back. Drove up to the convention center with my friend Celio (distant relative and fellow car show/auction buddy). As the 550mg of Neproxin finally kicked in, we paid and walked in to the convention center....

There, directly in front of me, only one row back, it stood full drivers side perpendicular to my line of site.... Mr Drysdales Imperial convertible. Or at least, how I always thought it should look.

One of the most beautiful cars I’ve ever seen.

That '75 H-car Starfire was a pretty spiffy item back then! Hopefully it had the Buick V-6 in it Manual trans?

(BACK to the Imperial at hand . . . ) If that was really Drysdale's Imperial, there would be evidence of the windshield having been put back in it. They removed the windshields so the sound stage lights wouldn't reflect on the glass.

Definitely a beautiful car, whether under those inside lights or not. That series of Imperials was supposed to be the Imperials which "out-Cadillaced Cadillac", with many finer details and materials, but nobody really noticed, it seemed. Still beautiful cars! Thanks for the great pictures!

Gorgeous blue convertible - Mr. Drysdale usually had LeBarons, (except for '67 when he rode in a Mobile Director), it was Ms. Jane Hathaway (the secretary) who drove a convertible, but it was usually a smaller Plymouth Belvedere or Dodge Coronet. THANKS for posting.

I thought I only say Mr Drysdale in an Imperial convertible over all those years but when I googled images of his car. Funny what we choose to remember.

Mr Drysdale’s LeBaron was often referred to as a limousine which, of course, it wasn’t but I did own one myself along with two LeBarons and a Crown Coupe. One of the studios did own a limousine and it was often seen in Six Million Dollar Man and a few other action shows of the same era. The convertible shown in this posting is gorgeous!
