Hello,

I have been posting hear and there on this forum but I haven't posted an official "I'm new" post. So here is my story:

I have a 65 Polara 500 Convertible with a 383 and the factory 4 barrel. I bought this when I was High School back in 2002. We loaded it up on the trailer and took it home. Pulled it off the trailer and got it running. I even drove it back then, a whole 4 miles. Well we parked it in my parents barn while I attended college. Well 12 years passed by, a bachelor's degree, a masters degree, and a DMA later, I am finally starting to be able to work on it again. My dad has been using this car as his storage table for his 50 plymouth that he is restoring, but all summer I helped him put all of the parts on that was on it and finally was able to pull it out today. I have spent the last couple weeks breaking free all of the wheels and greasing up the wheel bearings to make the move easy. I put some Marvel Mystery oil down the cylinders and cranked it over by hand a few times with the spark plugs out just to get it moving better. Put new plugs in, changed the oil and disconnected the "varnish line" and it ran just for a little bit on starter fluid. It made my day. I figured that I would wash it up before I took pictures for you.

I'll take a picture of a Interior (Lack there of) once I have the floor pans welded in on Saturday. I have two sets of seats (See Below) that Could go in this car. If you happen to know which one is right let me know. IMG_2997.jpgIMG_2996.jpgIMG_2995.jpgIMG_2994.jpgIMG_2993.jpgIMG_2998.jpgIMG_2999.jpg

What is my plan do you ask? I am joining the Army and am going to go play trombone in the band. So my current goal is to get this running and driving before september. I'm not talking about show quality done, but just enough so that my parents can move it around the barn a lot easier. Eventually, I plan on doing a Driver restoration.

Thanks

Eric

Neat intro and cool car. So you are joining the Army Band .. good luck to you and thanks for serving.

The first seat without the buttons looks correct. The pattern is right and the little I see of the chrome trim on the side looks right also. Oh yeah, welcome and good luck with the long term project.
