It's texting that is destroying our written language. Too bad.....

You can find new tanks on ebay these days and they're not expensive. All the good ones are made in Canada. Some out there are made in Asia and not as good so check.

C'mon guys this is not a schoolteacher's site, it's a car site. He might be posting via a phone device and not sitting at a full keyboard.

I rarely miss a comma from my phone, pet peeve I guess.

Desktop, tablet, phone...
Makes no difference. I attempt to use proper grammar to and proof read. That's why you see my replies as "edited" so many times. It's NOT a Herculean task.

We're eating now grandpa.
A comma can be lifesaving.:tiphat:

I think the question was about a '66 tank. There are no new tanks made for '66 and '67 is different. I don't know how it is different from the '66. If you can't salvage with a sealer, my local radiator shop said there is a place in KY that will restore the tank and give you a life time warranty.

If you are interested in this place send me a PM or post on your thread. I will have to call the shop to get the info. I think it was in the $400 range.

Really no tanks for 66's, Mike? What did you do with yours?

I had it steamed out and a can of Red Cote sealer poured in. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed. So far so good but eventually I will have to do something. I will either figure out how to modify a newer tank to fit or have the old restored.

I looked for a long time including NOS sites and there was nothing.

I'm 98% sure the '67 tank fits perfectly with the difference being only in the plumbing lines.

That is great to know Stan. I wish at this point and all the problems I had with the seals, and now my front seal around the sending unit is leaking when it is over 1/2 full, that I had been performing these tasks on a new tank. I'm really not looking forward to doing this all over again in a couple of years.:BangHead:

Does anyone know where i can buy a new gas tank hlp

I know Ricks hot rods in El Paso Texas can make you a new stainless steel tank to your liking, if you want an intank pump or in line pump they can do it .... Look them up! When you call ask for hector Guerrero and tell him barnabie sent you.... I Don't think it will get you a discount but he may expedite the tank build seeing that he is super busy....
