I plan on going to look at this 71 Fury II as soon as the owner and I can work out a time etc.. Anyway what do you think is a realistic value for this car? Supposedly has a rebuilt 360 in it, also comes with the original 360. The frame and floors are supposed to be solid but I wont no for sure till I see it. Owner says drives nice etc... Has a 8.25 rear. Interior look to be in nice shape except for the front seat- will need recovered. Headliner, dash etc.. does look ok. The lower quarters are rough and the rockers look like they need work also. Here are some of the pics I have. Any opinions would be very helpful- I don't know the exact value on these. He is asking $3000. Thanks

The owner said the switches on the dash are for the wipers and the something else as the original ones do not work.

Too much rust. I'd move on...and 3K is way too high for that car.
Rebuilt engine?

if your still looking at the car, use your cell phone camera to look in hard to find places. one spot that I have found as a good tell for condition are the braces above the front frame stubs. Behind the inner wheel wells/ fenders.

I don't like the rust, or the mickey mousing in the engine bay. The AC is simply cut, and what's with the rubber band holing up the heater hoses by the firewall?

If the car was free, the bodywork will still blow you out of the water.
It would have to be a very special car to warrant the $$ for the bodywork.
That car isn't special.

It is triple green though so it has that going for it...

Buy Azblackhemis car, its a sport fury with foldaway headlights and has far far less rust in it, plus you can probably get it home to your place for about the same price as this guy is asking for that car.

tell him 1500 tops (thats generous) and walk away...let him come to you or keep looking. Those jc whitney switches are...well, no...just no. Dont know what eleae could be chopped up under there. AND if he went thru all the effort to put in new switches..why not just fix the stock ones? Chevy fix. Oh and its a small block.

Pickings can not be that slim in Ohio...

If so you are close enough to find one in better shape from Wisconsin, Michigan or Illinois.

This is the correct answer

Don't even bother considering it in the first place. It's not going to look better by going to see it.

Thanks everyone. I have decided not to even bother looking at it. I felt $3000 was to high but I am not a expert on the value of these. Thanks again.

Even if you are into AzHemis car for a bit over 3000 it will still be a good buy simply because of the lack of rust, while there is some it is not major work,. Rust work is always the biggest thing to deal with and most times is the costliest. You can buy a similar car with rusty quarters and back window plus trunk floor and if you are paying someone else to do the work you can easily spend a minimum 2000+ getting it fixed.
