My plymouth Sport Fury is up at Carlisle and and am not brining it home till tomorrow. Reason being I was hoping to sell it and get a Demon or something along those lines. Since I had no luck selling it I guess I will just build it up. Stock 426 with a factory 4 speed. Indy has all they stuff, Carb, heads, manifold etc, anyone got an opinion? Please remember that I like this car but would like a Demon. I can live with either one, I did see a Dart I liked but if this is what I have it is what it is

so is it worth putting 3400 into Indy heads, an Intake, Roller rockers and a 750 carb, not heading back to Carlise till the morning, Either way, I have to rebuild the heads and the engine needs detailed

I have the need for speed as much as anyone (well, maybe not as much as Ross) but WTH is wrong with a stock Fury 4 speed 426??? What are you trying to accomplish?

What do you want do do with it? You looking for some track time or street racing or just building a cruiser?

Hey Stan, top of the morning to you too!

Hey Johnniesrotten. Im going to disagree with most here and say sell it. If you are already looking at Abodies obviously this is not your first choice. Car like that deserves someone who will make it their first choice. My .02.

No way would I choose a Dodge Demon (even 340) over a 4sp 426 Plymouth Fury. Keep the Fury......maybe you can work it so you can have both? lol.

If I can get sell the Challenger, that might be the ticket. That 426 pulls like a freight train in 2nd and 3rd gear, I never drove anything like it. I am gonna kick around what to do with it those Indy heads look real purdy

I'd take a big block stick C body in a heartbeat over a Demon. And I have a Demon... The down side is tha market for C bodies is not quite as hot as the E, B, or A. So the money might be different. A really nice-but-not-perfect, restored original 340 Demon will run in the mid teens money wise. A really nice restored and #s matching one with a stick and options will pass $20K. If you like A bodies then just buy and build what you want. Nice rust free 67-72 slant cars are under $5K and you can do whatever you want driveline wise at that point.

Ha, Ya think. Funny, I get more compliments from non-car people than I do from guys who have Chargers or Road Runners or Challengers. My car is a "tank" or "boat" or "boat anchor" to them.

Let them think what they will, I have my biggest behind the wheel smiles on when I'm driving my Imp.

I had a 20 something car challenged "dud" come up to me at the Lowe's Cruise and said "my family had one of these........except it was a Cadillac".
