Crazy how the rooster combs get change to another one in a rebuild.

I also wonder if they started installing newer model year components as they ran out of parts in the existing model year. Maybe Elwood’s transmission had the 69 and up rooster comb and switch?

I do know that the neutral safety and backup light functions both work on Elwood as he sits.

For example: my 65 Mustang was assembled on June 14, 1965 in San Jose , Kalifornia. It had a paint color ‘Springtime yellow’ which was a 1966 paint code and the door tag was stamped as such.
Secondly, the wiper arms had a collar on the cowl cover, where the wiper arms passed through in 1965 model year, and the 66 models didn’t have it. My Mustang didn’t have the collars.
