Howdy! I picked up a 66 Fury yesterday here in western Pa for $3200! It runs, drives and stops but needs a fair bit of work.
Here's some of the high/low lights:
Interior:
The top works with the fabric all but shot (it did come with replacement fabric and window.)
2 of the 4 electric windows are operational.
Seats are rough and will need redone.
It's missing the horn button and the radio knobs are also MIA.
Nice carpet.
Very nice dash.
Body:
The quarters were redone at some point, and appear to be done correctly.
Paint is done for, and it's not quite bad enough to fit the patina craze. It's kind of right in the middle (minus where the quarters were replaced.)
Driver's door is very wavy.
Front fenders got some arch-holes.
Nice hood and trunk.
Came with an extra drivers door (ok), trunk(ok), hood(good) and fenders(bad).
Running Gear:
It runs pretty good! Seller got the car is 93 as a project and hadn't done much to it. It just sat in a garage for the last 30+ years.
Shifts great all through the gears.
Brakes are mushy. It was upgraded to a dual reservoir.
Trim:
Bumpers should clean up nice. No rust on them.
The aluminum trim might be savable.
All 4 hubcaps look good.
And lastly, maybe my favorite part. I got to keep the original purple PA classic plate. I've wanted a car with one of those since I was a little fella.
Overall I'm super happy with my purchase. It's my favorite kind of classic car. One I can drive often, while I make it better.
Cheers fellas and fell-ettes!
