Hey so just bought this 66 speed boat and I've got questions.

First I've been trying to find out how many convertibles they even built that year? Can't seem to find anything other then someone said they built 1000+ in 67?

Secondly I've seen some with the rear wheels covered? Mine seems to have little metal nubs like it's supposed to have a cover fit but is that the polara 500?
Also this has power windows? Haven't seen any with that yet? But no floor shifter it's on the column.....

I have lots of questions that no one seems to know much about.... Got it from a guy who got it from a guy who stored it for 25 years it's pretty amazing not a spec of rust but maybe you guys know more about it?

Welcome and nice looking car. Sometimes, production figures from Chrysler Corp are difficult to find. Years ago, about the only place you might find somewhat accurate, but generic, figures was in "The Complete Book of Chrysler". Just model-specific with no consistent info on installation rates of options. Chrysler didn't build a lot of convertibles, so the 1000-2000 figure might be accurate. Others in here might have more accurate model year information.

Check out the "Library" section of www.hamtramk-historical.com for lots of vehicle information specific to your car. It's a great resource! "Library", then model year range, then the Dodge icons in the chart.

Most of the "power accessories" were separate options. The "500" was bucket seats and console, I believe, but could have the "Console Delete/Center Cushion-Armrest" option instead. Which would explain buckets seats with a column shift. But Hamtramk Historical can confirm that in the options list in the dealer order guide.

Enjoy!'

:welcome: Nice Polara. I assume it has an automatic trans. The console equipped cars, (Polara 500), came with a console mounted shifter. If no console it would be a column shift.
Power windows was an option and not to uncommon, especially in a convertible.

The car looks better without skirts IMO.

Will.

You're lucky to have the metal nubs. Most northern cars had them rot off.

Need some interior pictures and a picture of the fender tag. Nice looking car, it got a repaint somewhere in life, and looks like it's held up nicely. Polara and Polara 500's had the same VIN, DL23G6******* (I'm assuming it's got a 383). Buckets would be correct for a 500 model.

Nice car man! Welcome to the show.:welcome::usflag:

Anyone want to tell me what any of this means? Can't find a definitive answer I think it says it was silver 383 if I read any of that right

This is what I got, the decoder I use is no longer available, and I haven't memorized all the codes.

Silver with a black top and black interior, quite the looker. That paint didn't hold up well, even from the factory, which explains the color change. I'll see if I can get those codes I didn't remember. Please correct anything I may have decoded incorrectly.
