Hello everyone!!!!

Recently purchased my 1st Mopar in the UK (65 Dodge Polara). Thought i'd just introduce myself, and obviously let you know of my intentions for the car. Going to be a running project so will restore and customize a bit at a time. (needless to say this means i will be asking advice from you all throughout the coming months/years)

Hope you all have a good Christmas.

Welcome SimonES! and Merry Christmas to you and your family. A 65-66 Polara C body is quite a car to start with, Enjoy!

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Thanks people, here's some pics.

Welcome nice car. Same thought, it doesn't look like it needs restored, really solid complete looking car.

Hi,

and welcome from germany.
Looks like the old Dodge from Mr. Tomlinson who owned it for quite a few years in the UK

Carsten

Thanks people, but it does need a little love. I believe it was involved in a smash some years ago and the repairs could have been done a little better, but i think its a genuine loved motor.

It is indeed Carsten. The rear quarter repairs are not the greatest, and one front wing needs replacing at some point. Just rebuilt the top end due to a burnt exhaust valve, and intend on fitting electronic ignition.....and maybe an edelbrock carb....and inlet. Worry about the brakes later ;)

So as an American I have to ask how hard it is to get an MOT for something like that. Or is it exempt?

Its not exempt from MOT. Its pretty much the same as a modern vehicle, lights work, no leaks, no structural rust etc. Not hard to get one, harder to find a MOT centre that wont treat the car the same as someone else's ratty work van.
