Hello, I just joined up. I am the new owner of a 65 Monaco with a numbers matching 383 with factory 4 barrel and 4 speed with the Hurst shifter. Is this a rare configuration? I can't find much on it. The body is completely solid. It was put up on blocks 40 years ago due to the owner had bought it for his kids to drive and then realized it was too much car for teenagers. It sat that way until a couple years ago when the neighbor bought it. He ended up buying a Challenger and decided to sell it. It is complete minus the horn ring, the chrome latch on the center console, and a damaged piece of chrome trim on the driver fender. Any info on it would be appreciated.

Welcome

2nd one in a week .. does it look anything like this one?

Unfortunately he paint is shot due to it sat outside all those years but over all it should be a grate starting platform.

Congratulations on the purchase. I'm looking forward to hearing more about it

Glad it's in in the hands of someone who appreciates it.

What's the plan?

I am finishing up a duster in Jan then it is getting moved into my shop. No more sitting outside Lol. I want to restore it back to original configuration. Since it is numbers matching I want to try and stick to keeping it that way. Is it a rarer configuration?

Yeah, the 4 speed is definitely less than common. I'm kinda surprised it's a 383, but there's nothing wrong with one of them either. Whereabouts in ND are you? I'm just over the border in MN. Mine's a Polara 500, not a Monaco, and mine didn't leave the factory with a 4 speed either..........but it's got one now.

I live by Bismarck. Where about in MN are you from? That is a cool looking car. I am used to A bodies so no I have to learn all about the C bodies. I know parts are going to be harder to find and more expensive!

I'm up in Crookston, probably about 3 hours or so. There's another 65 Polara guy on here also that's just over the border in MT. One or two more, but they're way off in the distance.

Congrats on the score. Nice ride. Please keep us updated as you restore it. In the mean time I'd be interested in what is happening with the Duster.

I'm surprised how good the road wheels look on that car.

Will do! I am sure I will have plenty of questions to ask along the way. Also thanks everyone for the replies. I will take some better pictures once I get her cleaned up.
