First, thanks for letting me be a member. second, new to C Bodies, and Mopar . bought a 66 Dodge Polara, with a 383. joined so I could learn about the car and maybe find parts as I go along. As of now, I just want to learn about this very big car. I know it will need drivers side front floor pan, and a pass side door window, I'm sure I will have a long list before I start this project! Car was in storage unit for at lest 3 years, and gas is bad, bad smell at start up, but it ran. The story on the car is my nephews friend owned the car, and he passed away, but left the car to my nephew, family was mad and destroyed the title, my nephew stored the car for 3 or more years, before giving up on getting a title, and let the storage unit have the car, the manager of the units called me, because she knew I would want to know ( close friend ). So I called my nephew and he told me the story, and said if I wanted to buy it from storage unit manager , go ahead, he was done with it, so I bought it and a year later I have legal title for the car in my name, so now I own a C-Body! My nephew told me the car was built by a teacher and his students in Michigan, for drag racing, it has a hoop for drive shaft, line locks, and he couldn't remember what rear gears but thought something like 4:11's. When his friend bought it , he drove it from Michigan to Indiana , said he was getting 6 miles to a gallon.
As of now , I don't plan on doing anything with the car for a year or two, I have another project car I'm restoring now, and need to finish it up first.
