Whats going on folks. I am in the bargaining stages for my dads 73' Newport Custom Sedan. Has 37k on it but is not wanting to start right now. I am gonna have it towed over to my house tomorrow and start replacing some stuff to get it going. Its been started up almost every week but I went to crank it the other day and I get dash lights and no crank. Eh oh well. Only planning on a few upgrades. The stock radio has already been taken out so I will put in a nice headunit with USB support and change the speakers out, May lower it 2", and redo the vinyl top. I would prefer to get rid of the vinyl but I believe the window trim would look funky without it. I don't have any pics of yet but I will get some uploaded fairly quickly.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

Well here she is. I found out its the Neutral Safety Switch that made it not wanna start. Popped it in neutral and it fired up. So without further adieu....

its pretty dang straight. Only the vinyl top has me worried. But I will get to that eventually. I gotta get new fluids in it and tune it up

Nice. Typical big *** 4dr Chrysler fuselage car. Very nice. Get those jumper cables out of there and put em' in the trunk where they belong. I would NEVER put something like that on the seats in my car. You got something there that's worth saving so treat it right. Clean it up a little, getting it running and hit the mopar car shows. Let's have a discussion about the lowering thing though....kinda looks like its already sitting low enough to me.

Meh had em in there while trying to get it started. Found out its the neutral Safety Switch so they will be removed very quickly. It has Gabriel hijackers on the back end and the lines are rotted so i need to get that handled. It won't ve drove long distances until i can get the power Steering pump and neutral Safety switch taken care of. Then i have to check into the ac system.

aH..the fun begins. The NSS can be had at RockAuto if you haven't already found one. The pwr steering will fun. You'll need a special tool to remove the wheel off the front of it.

Autozone has em in stock for 13.99. I've got some work ahead of me as the person who owned it before ny dad didn't do much upkeep on the motor and ny dad didn't drive it very often.

becareful.....AZ sells lots of chineses made junk. Now since its in your hands you can treat it like it should be. It's in pretty good shape considering everything.

Appreciate the warm welcome folks. I am gonna change the fluids in it next weekend and then start stockpiling parts. I have some interior plastics that are in bad shape so I am gonna decide on that stuff later on. I will get it running right and then I will start making it look good.
