Hey gang, another newbie here. Just horse traded for a '62 Newport. I have a couple other Mopars; '65 Valiant 2 door with a slant 6, and a '65 Dodge D200 crew cab with a tunnel rammed dual quad 440.

Got the Newport for the wife, but it's gonna need some TLC. Has a 361, has been sitting for about 6 years without being started. Supposedly ran decent when parked but we'll see about that.

Anyhoo, glad to be a part of the gang, I'm sure I'll be picking at some of your brains with dumb questions very soon.

welcome, your Newport is not technically a C body but is very welcome here just the same :sSig_welcometoourcl

welcome aboard, many knowledgable people on the site, ask away, pictures are always nice!

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Austin is one of my favorite cities, live music, Town Lake, Iron City BBQ...how are the bats?

Thanks for the warm welcome! I grew up in Detroit so I've been around quite a few Mopars in my life, seems like I'm slowly becoming a Mopar nut. So if the Newport isn't technically a "C" body, what platform DOES is belong to?

Alpha designations for Mopar body lines didn't start until the mid-sixties. The first year for the full size line, named C-body, was 1965.
No letter designation was given to that year Newports. Don't worry about it.
It's a a Mopar.
It's full sized.
And it's RWD.
That's all that matters here. Again, welcome aboard.
