A friend of mine is in the market for a '32 Deuce street rod and he's been sending me links to cars for sale, so I've got street rod cookies in the computer popping up adds everywhere I go on the internet. This one popped up while I was on FCBO yesterday. It's so strange, I had to share. Don't spoil the surprise by reading any of the text. Just click the photo to full size it and start scrolling through the pics. Going forward, pic #7 is a bit of a shocker.

Of all the potential high horsepower engines that would work, this one would never even make my list.
Nice car otherwise. Do not see it selling close to the asking with this power plant, but you never know.

They say that there's an *** for every seat, but I do agree that it'll probably take a long time to find a new owner for this one that's willing to spend big money on it.

Considering how long ago it was done, it does appear that the builder did do a pretty nice job on it. Often when people start mixing and matching chassis parts you end up with wheels that don't sit right in the wheel wells, but this one looks about perfect. The Corvair engine is probably double the original flathead engine's horsepower, but the sound just isn't going to be right.

Wow....at least they put the dual carb version in it. I think you'd need to cut holes in the floorboards so you could "Fred Flintstone" up steep hills.

The Corvair powertrain makes it a definite novelty item. I suspect that copper color might be a harder sell than the engine? Or perhaps BOTH of them would mean a "harder sell"?

The heater won't work as there is no engine coolant to flow through it. The Corvairs did have factory a/c, though, so some Sanden or A-6 Denso might be operative.

Bet it's pretty decent in the snow!

I typically don't like copper paint, however this tone is really nice, not too orange and suits the car well. I can't understand the reason for the modification. One of the classiest cars you'll ever see, until you hear it started or see it in motion.

I can appreciate the skill to build it, but really a Corvair powerplant. Like others have said, there are better options, but it's unique.

The potential market for this car must be pretty narrow. Seems to be well done but I don't get the end result.

It wouldn't be my choice of power plants, but at least it's not a small block chevy.
