allright,, here it is getting test fit onto the car yall missed out on the chance to buy it

I love a 383 set up with two four-barrel carbs. Back in the day, Clay Smith had a solid lifter cam the factory used in an option package for '62 Plymouths and Dodges. It also featured two Carter AFBs. It was an awesome motor. I think they took the '62 NHRA stock eliminator title with it.

If I had a B block I would have been interested. However, the "no linkage" would have given me pause; perhaps it made others do so as well.

I saw that too. . . But I think all the linkage is probably available from Edelbrock.

for sure. i bought the mopar throttle/kickdown adapter thing from summit, but made the rest of the stuff myself. some heim joints (the little ball joint thing that goes onto thread rod) and whatnot.. the linkage is direct / not progressive. i bought the heim joints on summit and they were threaded for #10-31 or something
QA1 C Series Rod Ends CFL3

so i got to lowesdepot, and they got no thread rod in that size. i ended up tapping it out to 1/4-20 standard and rocking it. so a coupla nutz, some grommets, and some 1/4 thread rod and presto, carb linkage.
im going to try it and see what happens. if i have to change it to progressive it will take another bit of engineering, but im going this direction first.

next i took a piece of 1/8" x 3/8" aluminum flat bar stock and connected the chokes together.

so, right now, its just all laying there waiting on me.. i ran out of weekend.. sigh.

did you have any problem with hood clearance?? i have same set up but have'nt installed yet. thanks jeff

ran a similar twin fours package on my 383 with a solid cam n headers in my 65 880 rag , she could pull to 120 mph in second at 6k rpm , then i shift her into high , and rocket her up to about 140 plus noise up pulling the whole time , opened up some of my buds eyes that want to see want that giant vert could do , twin fours that solid cam went better than a 6pck n 480/280 purple stick cam i tried my her later , oh ya it had a 130 k on her then .

Thanks I dont want to build one I prefer to get a set up complete and rebuild carbs if necessary, thanks though

I talked to a guy at the Garlits Show who had a plane jane '62 Plymouth Savoy 2-door with the 383 / 343 HP engine with two four barrel AFBs. It was a very cool plane jane early MOPAR super stocker. He said he rebuilt the engine a year ago and decided to tone it down a bit using a less radical solid lifter cam (originally left the factory with a Clay Smith solid cam) and a little bit lower compression - all so he could run it with less hassle on the street. He had it dynoed, and it still put out over 360 HP.

that 383 in my 65 880 was a two bbl motor stock static low c/r pistons , just a pair of later 75 hardset heads , headers , solid cam was an sig erson streetgrind , weiand inline twin fours , i used 660 holleys on my package , i put one inch four hole spacers on my set up . the tops of the cleaners rested on the quite padding under the hood . that car would keep its noise up until you pulled your foot out of them carbs , great top end package .

hi!

ive still got the intake, but only 1 carb now,, i put the other carb on my ride.

let me know.

thanks!
