I want to replace my oil pan in my 74 fury with a 440. Can I use the b-body 6 quart oil pan?

The C-body pan has an extra inset on the passenger's side to clear the idler arm.

Why not. The pan I have has a spot where someone decided to put a jack under it. Since I was told 76 police 440 cars came with that I wanted to make the switch.
They didn't. You're confusing the extra capacity with the added oil cooler used in cop cars.

People call me a royal pain in the *** sometimes when I ask why all the time.
That's why.
If I didn't question your motives, a dozen people would have sent you down the road searching for something that doesn't exist.

You definitely want to fix the problem but putting a bigger pan on a stock car is foolish. The benefits are negligible unless you are going to auto cross the car or drag race the stock oiling system is more than ample for the maybe 5500 rpms you might see.

I have a 74 police car with a 440 and a 933 oil pan. Reading a brochure and getting a part number from a parts guy I was lead to believe that a 6 quart pan for that car was made in 76. The parts guy told me the pan number stamping was a 934.

There was a 400/440 hi-po pan 3751934 and it was STAMPED 933. It had a baffle as oppose the the standard pans.

Shown above is an original factory USED "933" oil pan, Chrysler part number 3751934. In general, this pan was used from 1974 until the end of production on "C" body cars with high performance 400's and 440's.

Here is a 6 qt oil pan that was the Hemi oil pan. It won't fit.

I have several 933 oil pans with and with out baffels. Will the pan from the 70 to 71 c-body work?
