For you jersey members...........

Someone who went to the Pumpkin Run in the beginning of November sent me a Flyer on my phone of an event that was to happen yesterday and Today from 8 to 2 the gates were opened to this yard at 343 Lakedale rd in Sicklerville. The yard has been organized since this google earth photo was taken and all cars were laid out by car company. Most of the cars were from the 40s and 50s, about 300 cars in total. The only fuselage car was a 69 fury convertible, there was a 70 Challenger in there along with several 65 Chryslers including a wagon and a 67 Chrysler convertible, Slabbie Furys, DeSotos and again, early Chrysler iron.
I went down yesterday around noon and of course this was the day for my device to not work and probably never will again so all the photo opportunities were lost. I really wish I had my real camera with me, awesome stuff in there, awesome stuff. The now owner is also the owner of Albion auto parts and the U pull it next to it.
I have never been on this road before and had no idea these cars were laying there, never even heard a rumor of such a place..

It was red with a black top and interior, steering column hanging..... rusty and banged up. I didnt stay long maybe a half hour....

Very cool Dave. Take a camera next time :)

I see some school buses too of course. Never see horders w/o some school buses for storing more stuff

The old junk yard near me uses the buses as a fence down one side of his place

There are a couple of Formal's in Leon's junkyard in Culpepper, VA. They are so trashed and been sitting in there for 30 plus years and are so bad even the derby guys don't want them. I have never seen a Formal roof rusted this bad and claimed by the wasps and snakes. The wasps have a massive nest inside the holes in the roof.

I know I know, I am ashamed .....

Was this something that was only open for the two days to clear it out?

I dont know, If I feel the need to go back I ( or anyone) could talk to the owner at Albion ... I dont think he bought it to clear it out. I have a hunch he'll keep it and add to it. Every now and then he gets an old car into his other yards, they'll probably get shipped to this one but thats speculation

These yards are becoming more rare. There's a couple within reasonable driving distance from me. It's a meditative experience walking through them. The last time I was stung by a wasp was there. I'm as bad as Dave never having taken a camera along. I have time off booked before Christmas and will try to get to at least one of them.

I figured I would snap a few with my phone and that would be the end of it.. The device died and that put me in a bad spot. Last week I snapped a few photos of a Bald Eagle in a field eating a kill..... He didnt like me standing there so he took off, what a wing span. I really need to carry my camera ....those shots would have come out so much better.....

You know Bob, so many times we get slammed here with snow and Fred has nothing..... and he's 10 hours North, just aint right

re: camera situation I can totally understand Dave as I've wished I had a camera on several occasions. I envy you getting to walk around in that yard though. I'm sure the pics in your head are clear enough

NO, they are not... thats the problem. Too much rolling around up there lately to keep a clear head. The yard is fifteen miles away, so theres a chance I could go back

Man that's just down the street and around the corner........... I live 25 miles one way from the nearest grocery store, or gas station.........
