So I been pulling down my 1968 440 engine (350hp) and I get to tapping the pistons out with a piece of wood and have a cardboard box to catch it just in case it slips out without me catching it. Tap tap tap, hmm its a bit sticky, taps it a bit harder and bam, I launch it out of the bore and just miss the edge of the box and take out a 1in square piece of the skirt of the piston, ugh.
What a pain in the ***, the engine will be reringed standard bore cos it's a low miles motor and has almost no lip.
So now, yeah it doesn't need that bit of skirt but I would prefer to replace it. Does anyone have a spare flat top standard bore piston floating around?

Gary. Contact Eric at Muscle Motors in Lansing, Mi. And tell him Jerry Olson said he knowz theirz ah stock 440 flat top piston for you somewhere on the premises. Eric and his crew have been building RB engines for 30+ years. Goggle search Muscle Motors in Lansing for the phone #. Tell him I'll have a cold St. Pauli in the cooler waiting for him at Carlisle, Jer

Hey Jer, thanks for that! I will chase him up on Monday and see if he has what I need, cheers mate!

I have one that was used as an ashtray. It's not pretty, but if you can't find a better one, you can have it.

No pin. Sorry.

Most likely, the pin from the broken piston will work. Tolerances for pin size were pretty close.

Yup that's ugly alright but as long as it isn't corroded at all I am sure it will work, just needs a bath to bring it back. Ill PM you my zip code and we can work out a shipping cost and how u would like to be paid.

So I got a package today in the mail and I thought to myself, damn the electric clutch for the mower I ordered yesterday arrived damned fast! Hmm, its a bit light, I open the package and voila! I have a piston! I totally forgot about this, even forgot to call Jer's friend too, I been too busy. It looks great John and I checked it for fit in my bore and it fits good. Thanks for that!
John sent me this piston free of charge shipping and all! I owe you one man, thanks again! :yourock:
