Old Man with a Hat
So I been pulling down my 1968 440 engine (350hp) and I get to tapping the pistons out with a piece of wood and have a cardboard box to catch it just in case it slips out without me catching it. Tap tap tap, hmm its a bit sticky, taps it a bit harder and bam, I launch it out of the bore and just miss the edge of the box and take out a 1in square piece of the skirt of the piston, ugh.
What a pain in the ***, the engine will be reringed standard bore cos it's a low miles motor and has almost no lip.
So now, yeah it doesn't need that bit of skirt but I would prefer to replace it. Does anyone have a spare flat top standard bore piston floating around?
