In one of the best "I can sell anything to anybody!" moves in the business world ever; the inventor of the Pet Rock, Gary Dahl, died today at age 78 in California. Really!

Dahl picked them up on a Mexican beach for one cent each and, after dressing them up and putting them in a cardboard box, then turned around and sold 1.5 million of them for $4.00 each.

I call that a brilliant move! Turning 1.5 million cents ($15K) into six million dollars is a coup, no matter how you look at it!

For the easily confused (LOL!), I will reword the headline:

The inventor of the Pet Rock is dead.
