looks like my car same color inside and out same motor

That one has been for sale a little while. It's been on the bluesmobile site since april. Started out at $2k.

A few of us "Bluesmobilers" were looking at all pitching in, and buying it for whatever parts we all needed.. But never got around to it. It is a nice car.

Actually, it seemed like it might have worked.. One guy wanted certain parts of the interior, another wanted different parts of the interior, one guy wanted the door's, one other guy wanted the steering wheel, yada yada yada. I wanted the bare carcass left of the car, as it seems pretty solid. I don't think everyone was ready to pitch in. I know I really didn't have the money. So it was just kinda never brought back up.

Where does it go? Who parts it? Who ships everything? Who handles the money for the initial transaction? Too many guys

It would have been a pain for sure. The car would have been bought, and everyone chip in for shipment to wisconsin. The guy in wisconsin would have stripped it, then i would have bought the body, and got it to me. That is where it would be hard for me... The price on the actual car body would be easy... It would be the shipping to me that would have been to much for my wallet.

The guy in wisconsin would be taking care of most of it (parting/shipping) as he is the one who proposed the idea. He put a thousand bucks on the table.

But like you say, it would not be fun, and I think that is why no one really went through with it. Which is fine with me.. I'm finally finding the parts I need.

That car could easily be restored. It's not in bad shape.

Yeah, way too nice to part out!

I agree, there is enough Bluesmobile's already out there. Almost makes you wish the original Bluesmobile was a Buick!

The way I see it.. The car is very nice! However I see no problem in sacrificing one car in order to keep 5/6 more of them on the road. Also if it were to happen the way it was planned the car would still be on the road. I would take all my interior, and drivetrain, and put it in this car, and get rid of mine. The body on this one looks very nice, much nicer then mine.

Secondly, I only see 2 things happening to this car. Either yes it does become a bluesmobile, or it becomes another demo durby statistic.

How many people have you run into dieing to have a stock 4 door civilian 74-77 c body monaco? Barely anyone. Hell you can even see it on these boards. You see several cars in the for sale threads with people saying they would love to get the car posted, whether it be a convertable, that certain 2dr fuselage, or station waggon. Now in this thread, you see people saying "oh don't let it become a bluesmobile", "its in such good shape save it". But do you see anyone saying they are dieing to own it? Asking how much it might actually be worth? Yada yada yada...

Nobody is jumping at the bit to get the mid '70s 4dr monaco. My car is kinda the older sister to this one. Mine was the same color, and everything. Brown, tan top, and tan interior. The only people who were really interested in the car were the guy's wanting to derby it, or the punk kids saying "man that car would be awesome with some candy paint, and 22's". Everyone hated the color.

As I say the car is nice, but unless someone from out of nowhere buy's it to keep/restore, or to bluesmobile it. The car will probably sit, and rot away till the price comes down enogh for a derby guy to get it, and smash it up. Id rather see it running around as a bluesmobile, then getting smashed to bits. The price is good on it in my eye's. But any lower and you are starting to get into derby territory. Also what hurts this car is the royal front end. Bluesmobile people want the base front end of the '74/75s.

1978 NYB- Shame on you! A buick? c'mon!!

I know you guy's are defiinitely not huge blumo fan's. But I invite you to come check out our board, to see we are not a bunch of moron's in the back woods spray bombing monaco's. May not be your thing, but maybe you will find something that will interest you, or find out something new you didn't know. At the very least see some picture's of some mopars. Lots of info over there. Granted it is still small as we had to start it new last year from our original board. This one is just over a year old.

Alright I'm done ranting... lol :soapbox:

So, somebody will buy the car & do that to it? Funny, I had no idea.
