That car would be tons of fun.

For posterity.

This is the real deal 1978 Plymouth Fury police pursuit car. This is the last of the 440 Mopar powered (E-86) police interceptors ever made by Chrysler Corp.
This car was formerly an unmarked Virginia State Police officers car. About 10 years ago the car was mechanically restored and the engine was completely rebuilt to 1969 440 Super Commandoe specs (and then some). This increased the horsepower from the stock 255 to over 400 (legit) and increased torque from 340 to 450 ft. Lbs.
Along with the engine, the transmission was fully rebuilt and a new torque converter added. The increase in performance is dramatic. Acceleration is incredible and the top end is amazing! Stock the E-86 cars could do 132. This car would top 150!

The car was equipped with following-

E-86 440 four bbl. motor w/ Carter 850 cfm Thermoquad carb (brand new)-
True dual exhaust (just replaced) with Hemi style mufflers-
Rebuilt heavy duty Torqueflite transmission with new torque converter-
Engine features a supplemental factory engine and transmission oil coolers, a power steering oil cooler and high capacity radiator-
A-38 handling package includes-
Dana-60 9 1/4" rear end 2:71 gear ratio,
Heavy duty torsion bars, huge front and rear anti-sway bars, 15x8" slotted wheels and poverty type hub caps- Currently has performance radial tires-
Police package front Disc brakes, large vented rear drum brakes, heavy duty shocks, reinforced frame-

The car also had upgrade electrical including 100 amp alternator, heavier gauge wiring and provisions for added emergency lighting- The car also has air conditioning-

The car was recently painted and looks straight and awesome. The interior features velour interior (in great shape) with vinyl door panels, a nice headliner with police dome light, rear emergency brake lights (which work) a stock spotlight (not working) and a full gauge package (all working).
The color is metallic maroon and it can't be appreciated unless seen in person and in the sunlight!
Needs- the windshield wipers do not work. I have all the linkage but the motor is missing. The heat and A/C work but the controls need to be fixed. The doors and trunk need new gaskets. I removed the ones in the trunk for painting. The radio is a new old stock Concorde am/fm tape stereo to replace the old Chrysler am. It works but needs speakers.

Please call if your interested and have any questions. I do not need help selling, I will not respond to scam texts or messages and will not ship the car!

This car is solid and an amazing performer! The acceleration, handling and brakes are shockingly good for a car that is over 40 years old. It would not take much to complete this and turn it into a show car. I personally just live driving it.

The price is very reasonable compared to performance cars of this era. You could not get a high performance rebuilt 440, a rebuilt torqueflite and a Dana-60 for what I'm asking. Please no trades or low ballers!

That is a sweet looking car. However, that 9 1/4 2.71 gears is not a Dana 60

I LIKE it! Great body style and color. Last year for the big block. One of my favorite style of law enforcement Mopars. Wish I had the cash.

That thing is sharp! That back bumper reminds me of some Hot Wheels cars I had when I was a kid.

I just saw this when it was 12 hours old, don't really know what to think about it, it's a nice candy red paint job but I don't think that's the factory color and since I'm not a fan of red cars or cars with square headlight I'm out.
Wonder where they got the interior seems to be a mishmash and for all the effort ya think they would dye the steering wheel too. :BangHead::BangHead:

This is the 1 cbody i,m not thrilled with. But in this case the color helps the lines of the body and the front end. This body type looked correct with stacked headlights.oh, plus the 79 300 package/cordoba.b.b

The color is probably "Vintage Red", which is what my father had on a '77 Monaco coupe. Color looks correct as I remember it; my dad's car got a lot of compliments when waxed. I'm usually not big on reds, but this is a classy shade, in and out.

As an aside, maybe we could just have subtitles that say "I don't like stacked headlights" so members won't be troubled to re-type it every time a Fury/Monaco/Cordoba gets posted.

More common car than you'd think.
When Chrysler announced the end of the big block b body cop cars many police dept. ordered up a ton of them. Many stayed on duty well beyond the normal retirement.
At that time it was the fastest cop car out there with highest hp rating.
The next fastest vehicle was the Little Red Express and the C body cop car after that.
Little did they know that the E58 R body. And 318 4bbl M body were better cop cars.
Yeah for the price finish the half *** things needing attention and that steering wheel.

The color is Tapestry Red Sunfire a factory color RR7. The repaint color is a little off, but really close.

The VSP usually would mark the unit number of the vehicle in the glove box, on radiator support and on the inside of the deck lid. I didn't see one in the photos. This is a three tag car, by the way.....

The Commonwealth of Virginia Police, had a rational of using unmarked cars a policy, more so than some other States. Slick top, unmarked, two and four door models, of various colors. (Black and grey were popular).

This one appears to be a decent car in RR7. If the seller has some documentation from the VSP that would be helpful or find the unit numbers.

The asking price is completely fair, and actually a good deal for a real, documented Pursuit car.

I know sometimes the lighting can throw it off but should be same color as my '78 New Yorker St Regis Coupe.
