Anybody here have a fusy cop car with a power trunk release? I'm looking for the switch location. Thanks.

While not a cop car, I put mine in the console storage compartment - easier to reach while wearing a seat belt.

Thanks everybody, this is an old WSP car. Sometimes the police would move things around but the harness is long enough to reach the glove box.

FWIW, I used a later (80ish) electric trunk release in my 70 and it fit perfect.

I looked for the 72 version I had last night, but could not find it. That was basically a power door lock (or similar) solenoid that attached to the latch. The later electric piece is better all around.

A friend of mine has a 73 CHP car and the trunk release is much more compact. A lot of changes between 72 and 73.

If you are opening the trunk why still be worried about wearing the seatbelt?
If you are running from the law and you want to release whatever is in the trunk... Like let's say it's full of white rabbits.... and that will throw them off your trail.
